Big Magic Lives in the Small Stuff

Those of us who work with tarot tend to love the big themes.
Think: Purpose, soul lessons–the parts of tarot that make us feel connected to something bigger.
But not everything is a Major Arcana moment in life.
But sometimes what we really need is to see what’s showing up in smaller ways–in our habits, passing thoughts, or the energy we carry through the day.
That’s where the Minor Arcana comes in.
If the Major Arcana cards are the long arc of the story, the Minor Arcana cards are the lived experience. They root big spiritual concepts into the daily and practical: your breath, your inbox, your grocery run, your tone of voice.
This will make more sense if you try it:

One-Card Daily Check-In (Minor Arcana Only)
Set aside your Major Arcana and just use the Minor Arcana.
Then pull one card and ask:
“What is showing up in small ways today?”
Then notice what you notice:
- What suit came up?
- What number is on the card?
- What is it showing you about today?
- How does it change your perception of what has happened today?
- How does it change how you move forward with the rest of your day?
You’re not looking for a prediction or trying to solve something. You’re creating a moment of self-awareness to see how life is unfolding, right now.
It’s a practice in presence.
The message from the card might show up in your body, your conversations, or the choices you make throughout the day.
This is the kind of work we’ll explore in my new learn tarot course this fall–learning to read the cards in ways that reflect your real life, not just the big questions.
