VIEWFINDER

When you’ve thought it through, talked it through, planned it out and you still have the feeling that there’s something you’re not seeing.

Begins October 14 | Wednesdays at 12 PM EST

You can spend a lot of time thinking something through and still miss what’s influencing the way you see it.

Most of the women who end up in my world are really good at thinking things through.

You can journal the hell out of something. Talk it through with a friend. Pull cards. Make a plan. Make a better plan when the first one doesn’t quite fit.

Get a reading. Go to therapy or coaching. Look at your astrology chart or Human Design and collect a whole lot of useful information about yourself.

Woman with glasses and dark hair wearing a patterned black top, seen through a fragmented, reflective surface creating a blurred effect around her face and shoulders.

You know how to reflect.

But the way you understand yourself (and the world around you) has been taking shape for a long time. Way longer than you think.

And along the way you’ve picked things up from your family, relationships, culture, work, successes, and failures. You’ve collected it during all different periods of life – childhood, your 20s, last week.

It’s like a complex, beautiful collage.

The more we live, the more we add to it.
We don’t really take the time to stop and peel back the layers. If we see something we don’t like or something that represents a past version of who we are, we simply paste over the top with something that resonates more.

But over time, those layers start to build.

And even when we can’t see the older pieces anymore, they can still affect how we make decisions and what we see as possible.

Something you learned about yourself at seventeen can still be affecting a choice you’re making decades later.

The part you played in your family when you were younger can show up in a relationship that looks nothing like the ones you grew up in.

An old definition of responsibility can be playing like a silent record dictating what we feel we should be taking on now.

And because they’ve been hanging out under the surface for so long, you don’t necessarily see them in action.

It’s more like, "this is just how it is". Which is how you can be living a very different life and still find yourself back in a familiar place.

You can change jobs and recreate the same dynamic.

You can make a new plan and somehow still end up with the same handful of options forward.

You can even get a genuinely useful insight and six months later realize you’re dealing with theme and variation on the same thing you just got advice on.

You know something is off, but every time you try to get to the bottom of it, it feels like you’re missing something.

The things you pasted over don’t stop affecting you just because they’re buried under a few newer layers.

They influence what feels realistic or responsible.

They’re the things that have you dismissing something before you really consider it. They can even influence what you think you should want or whether you let yourself imagine something more.

And the older we get, the more that matters.

You’ve got a whole thousand layer collage sitting in front of you, full of experiences, relationships, things you’ve learned the hard way, what you’re proud of. Tucked in between the layers are dreams that have changed, values that got clearer, and versions of yourself that made complete sense at the time, but don’t quite fit anymore.

You’re still building your life with all of that material.

Because knowing yourself and knowing how to work with yourself are two different things.

If you haven’t looked to see what’s underneath the top layer, you can end up making choices for the person you were ten or twenty years ago instead of the person you are now.

Another journal prompt isn't going to show you what you're missing.

You've done enough reflecting to know that one more piece of information isn't necessarily going to show you what you can't see.

You also don’t need to sort through every layer or figure out where every piece came from either. You just need to learn how to notice what’s been influencing how you see things.

You can be deeply self-aware and still miss what’s affecting the way you see something.

Viewfinder is designed to help you do just that. Over four weeks, you’ll get better at:

  • Noticing what’s influencing the way you see a situation before you automatically treat your first interpretation as the whole story

  • Understanding more about what may be contributing to the choices, dynamics, and patterns that keep leading you back to familiar places

  • Questioning things you’ve been treating as obvious, realistic, responsible, or simply “how it is”

  • Seeing possibilities that were difficult to consider when you were working from the same view you started with

  • Making choices that reflect who you are now – not only what made sense ten or twenty years ago

During our time together, you'll get better at catching what’s influencing your view while you’re making a decision, having a hard conversation, thinking about what comes next, or wondering why something feels so familiar.

Understanding something doesn’t automatically change what happens next.

You can logically understand something you read in a book or learn in a class –  and still completely miss it when it shows up in your own life three days later.

That's why Viewfinder happens over a period of four weeks.

Each week, you'll learn a new way to look at what's going on and then notice where it shows up in real life.

Then you’ll bring your experiences back into the room so we can work with it together.

INSIDE VIEWFINDER

What the four weeks look like

Each week, you'll learn a new way to look at what's going on and then notice where it shows up in real life. Then you'll bring your experiences back into the room so we can work with it together.

01
Assumptions

Assumptions

The things you’ve decided are true without necessarily realizing you made a decision.

02
Beliefs

The ideas you’ve held long enough that they may feel less like beliefs and more like facts.

03
Stories

The meaning you’ve made from what happened, what it says about you, and what you expect to happen next.

04
Roles

The parts you’ve stepped into—and how they can influence what you think you should do, want, or take responsibility for.

The ideas build over the duration of the course, so by the end you’re not looking at four separate concepts. You’ll start to see how they can work together in the situations you’re currently experiencing.

Here’s what I mean by seeing more of the picture.

In a recent workshop, someone brought up something pretty ordinary: the people she lived with kept leaving water bottles with the lids screwed on so tight that she couldn’t open them.

She’d asked them more than once to loosen the lids. Eventually, she snapped.

On the surface, it looked like a problem about not being listened to. But when we took a minute and really looked at it, she recognized why it was carrying so much weight.

She was brushing up against an old relationship dynamic where she had repeatedly asked for help, felt unheard, and eventually got angry.

The water bottles were still water bottles. The current relationship hadn’t suddenly become the old one.

But now she could see that an older experience was influencing what this moment meant to her.

And once you can see that, you have more room to decide what belongs to this situation, what you may be carrying into it, and how you want to respond from here.

That’s the kind of thing we’re looking for in Viewfinder – the parts of the picture that are already there, but are much harder to notice when you’re standing inside of it.

This isn’t a sit-back-and-take-notes kind of class.

We’ll work with what’s happening in your life right now through conversation, exercises, visual tools, and whatever helps us get something out where you can look at it differently.

Sometimes that may include an oracle or tarot card. Sometimes it may be a question, a conversation, or something you noticed during your week.

Then you’ll take what comes up back into your actual life, work with it, and bring what you notice into the next conversation.

The point isn’t to leave with more interesting things to think about. It’s to have somewhere to go with what you see.

What’s included inViewfinder

Four Zoom Sessions

Assumptions

Each session will include teaching, conversation, and time to work with what’s happening in your own life.

You don’t need to come in with a clear idea of what you want to work on, but if there’s something specific you want to look at, you can bring that into class

Space to practice between sessions

After each class, you'll have something optional to work with between calls, so you can take what we're doing out of the Zoom room and into your regular life.

The point isn't to pile on homework. It's to give you something to notice before we're back on the next call.

The Viewfinder Guidebook

I’ll provide a guidebook with the ideas, practices, and tools we’re working with, so you don’t have to comb through the live calls to find what you need.

Replays of all four sessions

If you miss a week, the replay will be up within 24-48 hours. Plus, you’ll retain access to the guidebook, course materials, and replays for the lifetime of the course.

Meet Jessica

I’ve been working with people through tarot, intuition, coaching, and change for close to fifteen years.

For a long time, I was really interested in helping people get better information, ask better questions, read the cards differently, and get clearer about what your intuition is telling you.

Those things are still really important, but over time, I became much more interested in what happens after the insight lands.

Why can someone see something clearly in a session and still find themselves back in the same place months later?

And why are some things so easy to see in someone else’s life and so much harder to see in our own?

Those questions changed the way I work. They led me deeper into coaching, into how people grow and change over time, identity, and the ways we make meaning from everything that happens to us.

Jessica Paschke

And they changed the role I think insight should play.

I don’t think you need someone sitting across from you handing you answers about your life.

I believe that you are the expert
in your own life.

I’m much more interested in helping you get enough distance from what you’re looking at that you can start to see more of what’s there, question what you’ve been taking for granted, and decide what makes sense for you now.

That’s where Viewfinder came from.

It brings together the work I’ve been doing for years – around intuition, conversation, and change. It’s rooted in a question I keep coming back to: What becomes possible when you can see more of what’s been influencing the way you see your life?

You don't have to have everything figured out before you come—that's what Viewfinder's for.

FAQ's

Do I need to know tarot?

No. We may use oracle or tarot cards sometimes, but Viewfinder is not a tarot class and you do not need to know how to read cards to participate.

Do I need to come in with one specific thing I want to work on?

No. If there’s something you’ve been turning over for a while, you can bring it with you and keep looking at it across the four weeks. If there isn’t, you can work with whatever starts showing up in your life as we go

What if I’ve already done a lot of belief work?

Great! Viewfinder isn’t four weeks of identifying limiting beliefs and replacing them.Beliefs are one part of what we’ll be looking at, alongside other things that influence how you understand what’s happening and what feels possible from where you’re standing.

Will you help me figure out what decision to make?

I’ll help you look at what may be influencing the way you’re seeing the decision. I won’t tell you whether to stay, leave, quit, move, start, stop, or choose one option over another.

What if I can’t make every session live?

All four sessions will be recorded.

You can catch up with the replay if you miss a week, although I recommend joining live when you can because the conversation and the chance to bring back what you noticed are part of the experience.

How much time will I need between sessions?

You won’t be getting hours of homework. No one has time for that.

You’ll have something optional to work with or pay attention to between sessions, but the point is to take what we’re doing into the life you’re already living.

Is this therapy?

No. Viewfinder is a coaching and critical reflective learning experience. We’ll be looking at how you make sense of what’s happening in your life, what may be influencing your view, and what becomes easier to see once you have more of the picture.

Is this only for people going through a big life change?

No. You may be in the middle of a major transition, but you don’t have to be.

You might just have one part of your life that keeps feeling off, familiar, confusing, or harder to understand than you think it should be.

When does Viewfinder start?

We begin Wednesday, October 14 at 12:00 PM Eastern and meet for four Wednesdays. October 14, 21, 28 and November 4.

What does it cost?

The introductory price is $300, or you can choose two payments of $150. Enrollment closes Sunday, October 11.
