Your Intuition Is a Compass, Not a GPS Destination

Your intuition can be stronger, clearer, and more precise. All you have to do is get clear on your destination.

If you pick up a compass and you hold it in your hand, the compass will tell you this is north, south, east, or west. But it’s not going to tell you what direction to move in.
Your intuition is essentially a compass.

It’s going to give you the lay of the land or help you get oriented wherever you are, but it won’t tell you where to go or what to do.

Just like when you open a GPS. The GPS doesn't tell you where you're going to drive to. You have to put the destination in.

So when we’re feeling like our intuition isn’t working or isn’t loud enough to hear, the first thing we need to ask ourselves is have we intentionally set the coordinates? Or are we just hoping that we’ll accidentally end up where we need to be?

And if we’re just hoping it all works out, then do we know what’s running the show?

Because if we’re not consciously choosing, then our unconscious or default programming kicks in. Our stories, beliefs, judgements, and habits begin to be the thing that fuels our intuition.

So how do you set your intentions for your intuition? Start by having a conversation with yourself.

Sit down with a pen and paper, take a deep breath and let your mind wander. Ask questions that help you figure out where you want to go, like:

What’s going on right now?
How are you feeling?
What’s challenging you?
What feels like a win?
What do you want more of?
What could you do without?

Just making space to think about what’s happening right now can help you choose the destination to who you want to become. Then your intuition kicks in with all the different possible routes that could get you there.

Your intuition is always on and working. Have you told it where you want to go, yet?
