Hello and welcome to November’s pick a card reading. I’m using the Modern Witch Tarot deck by Lisa Sterle for our cards this month. As always, I have picked a collective message card and then 3 others cards–and you choose one of those three. So get ready and have your number written down because we are going to dive right in!
Collective message this month is the Six of Cups in Reverse. This card has six pink cups on it with an adult person adding a child the sixth cup. Both figures are standing in front of a yellow house. I love the colors this deck uses–super vibrant. Anyway, Six of Cups upright usually speaks about the past, but in a nostalgic way–tuning into that childhood energy of joy and play. When we tip it upside down, it takes on a bit of a different meaning and that’s what the message is this month—don’t get so hyper focused on the past that you start living in it. It’s one thing to reflect back on things, but if you get caught in it, you’ll lose out on what the present moment holds.
So hold that thought for a second because I want to share a dream I had last night with you all. Too funny that it ties into what this card is saying. I actually fell asleep thinking about the Pick A Card reading I was going to do today. Those of you who have taken classes with me or listened to the podcast know I’m a “dreamer”. I often get spirit messages while I sleep and I actively do dream work, as well. Anyway, I had the most vivid dream last night that took me back to my early 20s when I was living in NYC. I was back at the restaurant I used to work at with all the people I used to hang out with. But I was me in this time. It was almost like I had traveled back in time and Spirit was giving me a chance to make different choices and decisions moving forward from this point. Anyway, after the shift ended I was trying to find my apartment and I couldn’t remember which one I was living in at that time–I moved around a lot during my time in the city. Like I knew “when” this restaurant gig was but I couldn’t remember where I was living. I got in a cab with friends to go back to my place and I started to think this thought, “If I change anything about this past, I won’t get to where I am now…” I started thinking about all the things that had to come together to get me to the people that I love right now. Then the dream skipped to when I first met my husband—but, I couldn’t change anything from there either because I wouldn’t end up where I am today. Then it skipped to after my daughter was born, but once again—if I changed anything it would move me away from where I am today. The point was no matter how challenging life has been, it has brought me to this present moment and I love each person in my life so fiercely that changing my past isn’t worth it—even if it made things easier. Which ties us right back into the Six of Cups.
You can’t live in the past. Even if you could change the past, Spirit wants you to really think about the questions, “Is it worth it?” and “Would it really make the difference you think it would?” Our present moment is precious and I know eclipse season and Mars in Retrograde is kicking up a lot of old stuff for people right now. Things you thought were resolved and yet here they are waving in your face. However, Spirit is telling us that all that old stuff can sometimes get us stuck in wishing things had been different in the past. And our power lies in transforming our present. Something to keep in mind as you work through the shadows that winter season often brings with it. I’m hearing Spirit say it might be worth pondering or journaling about. Maybe even take yourself on a Soul Journey and allow yourself to see how you got to where you are today and focus on what you appreciate about your present self and the people who surround you now. Love how my dream pulled that message through–don’t know I would’ve connected the dots of that card on mine own. Thank you Spirit.
Let’s take a look at the message for Card 1 folks: King of Swords in Reverse. We’ve got a person sitting on a stone throne in a light blue suit with a sword in the right hand raised up towards the sky, clouds and trees in the background. Card 1 folks, y’all may be feeling challenged this month. Part of what is challenging is that you don’t have the clarity you want to make decisions and move forward. It’s almost as if your inner navigation system is a bit too quiet to pick up on. The beauty of this is that just because you can’t “hear” what you need clearly, doesn’t mean you don’t have the tools to move forward. This month you’re going to need to fall back on what you know to be true. This means focusing on the things that hold the Truth for you—focusing on what your values are–and using that to guide you. Here’s why: just because you don’t have clarity on your current challenges doesn’t mean all the hard work and guidance you received in the past is worthless. Spoiler Alert: You can use past guidance and truths to navigate this moment. I think we all forget that what Spirit gives us and what our inner voice tells us about other things can be applied to all things. So go back through your old journals, sit down and write out what you know to be true about life for you, tap into those values that are important and apply it all to this month’s challenges. Empower yourself with yourself’s past wisdom. I hope that makes sense.
Card 2 folks: 3 of Pentacles is your card. We’ve got three people on this card—One is sketching, while another is posing in the nude and there is another chatting with the artist while they draw. This card is all about collaboration and coming together to bring things to life. This message is a strong guidepost for those of you who picked this card. Whatever you’ve been working on or pondering, you’re needing a group infusion of energy to make it happen. You can no longer go it alone. You have brought forth all the energy and inspiration you’ve got and now it needs other people’s ideas and thoughts to really get momentum. Rather than go within and journal, call up a few trusted friends and brainstorm about what needs to be done. Take good notes and figure out how you can implement them into what you’ve already accomplished. This isn’t about tossing out what you’ve done so far—it’s about adding to it to take it to the next level.
Card 3 Folks: Knight of Swords. Here we have a person on a horse holding a sword and rushing forward with speed. The time for dreaming about things is done. It’s time to take action. Not just any action though—well thought out action. You’ve got momentum right now to make things happen, so take those plans and bring them to life. If you’re feeling like you’re being rushed into something, you don’t have to make it happen all at once. What Spirit is saying is it’s time to get moving. Even implementing a few of the beginning steps is better than nothing at all. Sometimes, you need to start the journey before you have all the steps because the journey gives you the next steps as you go. For those of you who chose this card, maybe take time to sketch up a plan or outline somethings to help you direct all that energy. And this is big energy for you—if you dive right in without a plan you’re going to feel like nothing gets done and you’re spinning your wheels in the mud. Taking a few moments that beginning of the month to get clear will help you really take flight as the month goes on.
That is the reading for this month! Let’s review:
Collective: Don’t get stuck in the past this month. Make time for reflection but keep the focus on the present.
Card 1: You have the wisdom you need inside of you—go back to the basics to move forward.
Card 2: Teamwork! It’s time to call in other people to help you out.
Card 3: Lots of fast moving energy—take advantage of it by getting clear on your intentions and then go for it.
Big things are going to be released in November. Andrea and I will be sending out an email for Spiritual Evolution Collective for those of you on the waitlist. This experience is all about connecting with yourself, Spirit, and others to continue to evolve on your journey. We are so excited to share it with you. Keep an eye open. My business will go on break the week of the 21st—it’s US Thanksgiving. We don’t celebrate thanksgiving in our house but we do hold a family feast and connect with our country’s history and what we are grateful for–and what we need to change so that everyone can feel connected and seen. Maybe you have a lovely month however you celebrate and I will be back here in December with you all.
